Market Creations Agency and the Western Australian Local Government Authority (WALGA) celebrated a significant milestone this week with the Shire of Carnarvon coming on board as the 100th subscriber to CouncilConnect.

In 2021, Market Creations Agency was awarded a contract for the development of a new website for the Shire of Carnarvon” – a coastal community located around 900 kilometers north of Perth. This week, Market Creations Agency travelled to Carnarvon to meet with the project team and celebrate the launch of the Shire’s corporate website which occurred in May 2022.

Launched in 2014, CouncilConnect is an innovative website solution developed specifically for local government and designed to empower Councils to better serve their communities online. The 100th subscriber milestone underscores the long-term strategic partnership between Market Creations Agency and WALGA and demonstrates the success of the pioneering website solution.

The CouncilConnect platform is delivered by Market Creations Agency in partnership with WALGA and has administered over 150 web applications to date.

WALGA Chief Executive Officer Nick Sloan said the CouncilConnect platform is a key example of leveraging strong relationships to support the local government sector.

“CouncilConnect is a modern website solution tailored to support local government authorities to connect with their audience online. This aligns with WALGA’s commitment to providing integrated, member-centric services to help members succeed,” said Nick.

“Congratulations to Market Creations Agency for the outstanding achievement and we look forward to our continued partnership,” he added.

Market Creations Agency Managing Director Darren Lee said he is grateful for the support the CouncilConnect platform has received from local government clients over the years.

“The CouncilConnect platform offers our local government clients a bespoke website service to ensure they have an effective online presence that encapsulates their community’s vision. We’re honoured to welcome the Shire of Carnarvon as our 100th subscriber and a chance to celebrate the achievement together in Carnarvon,” said Darren.

“I would like to acknowledge our team for their amazing efforts. It’s thanks to their talents and dedication that we can continue providing a quality service to our clients. We also must thank our valued clients for their continued support which enabled us to grow the CouncilConnect platform to over 100 subscribers to date,” he said.

“We are extremely proud of this landmark moment with WALGA and the Shire of Carnarvon, as we continue to grow our CouncilConnect service and support local governments in their digital transformation journeys,” he added.

The Shire of Carnarvon President Eddie Smith said they’re thrilled with the outcome and are excited for the community to experience the new website.

“This is a very exciting change for the Shire of Carnarvon. The new website will make it easier for our residents, visitors and investors to find information and learn more about what Carnarvon has to offer. Council is committed to delivering a high level of customer service and we hope the new website will help better serve the needs of the community,” said Eddie.
